Celebrities Seek Chiropractic
A recent internet article gave some interesting information on one of the world's most famous faces. For years we've seen and heard in the news about the health challenges faced by Elizabeth Taylor. We've all seen photos of her in a wheel chair and heard about her battle with prescription drugs she had been taking for back pain. It was wonderful to read in this piece that she had sought out the care of a chiropractor with great results. She credits her chiropractor with rehabilitation and recovery from back problems. Miss Taylor is hardly the only celebrity to utilize chiropractic care to regain and maintain her health. Other chiropractic regulars include
Warren Beatty, James Earl Jones, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jack Nicholson, Julie Andrews, Jane Seymour, and Mel Gibson.
Women and Chiropractic
Doctors of Chiropractic have always recognized that women face many health problems unique to them because of their female physiology, including the fact that their bodies are designed to be able to bear children. Pregnancy and the menstrual cycle are two of the most important health matters for women. Pregnancy and it's recovery, pain during the menstrual period (dysmennorrhea), premenstrual syndrome (PMS), and chronic pelvic pain are four of the most distressing conditions that are unique to the female body that chiropractic can help with.
Alternative Route to Health
If you believe that the only road to good health is paved with pills, potions, and surgery, this is not the article for you. If your favorite part of watching TV is making a list of the new drugs you can ask your doctor or pharmacist about, stop reading right here.
If you are looking for a road where the foundation of good health is realized, read on. Educated individuals are disenchanted with the healthcare their parents knew. Simply seeing the medications their aging parents now take is enough to create concern. What they visualize is a future where one symptom is treated with a pill that creates another symptom
without ever finding the cause
of the first symptom. Add to this the terrifying statistics of deaths due to medical procedures and intelligent people just want something that is real health. They want different. They want BETTER.
Chiropractors, Ground Zero Heroes
The atrocities of September 11, 2001 have affected us all. Stress levels are high. A 16% increase in prescriptions for "mood regulators" has occurred since the tragedy. Most people are at a loss as to how they can help. Like many Americans, chiropractors have donated blood and made substantial donations to the Red Cross relief fund.
However, for a growing number of chiropractors,
"how to help" immediately
meant doing the thing they do best:
to give chiropractic adjustments to the workers at the site of the World Trade Center.
